Whites From Around The World
Everyone we know has Spring fever right now.
While the weather is still a bit cold, it's not too early to think about some new whites to try with your favorite Spring dishes.
The selections below have been hand-selected to showcase some of the lesser well-known white regions from around the world.
But, trust me.
These are plenty enjoyable on their own, with your favorite chicken or seafood dish, or with some young cheeses.
Let me share some pairings with you I'm planning to try.
First, the 2011 Dr. Konstantin Frank Pinot Gris would go especially well with a nice jambalya or roast chicken with its dry and zesty finish.
And if fish is your thing, try cooking up some dover sole in light butter, and pair it with the 2011 Moraitis Santorini. The light citrus will bring out the flavor in the fish.
Finally, for cheese enthusiasts, get yourself some 6 month manchego and have it with the the 2010 La Cana Albarino. Your taste buds will thank for this refreshing combination.
Now, let's put the cold weather behind us, and welcome Spring with whites!
