Kinkiz’s Cornouaille AOP cider has a deep golden color, and is very aromatic. It is rich, mildly bitter-sweet, and leaves the mouth pleasantly refreshed. While it is thirst quenching, it is an astonishing food partner. 5.5% ABV vol., naturally sparkling 100% pure juice. Basque Cider, Hur Astarbe, Byhur (2012) A Basque cider that’s just a touch funky earth and refreshing. This sparkling (alcoholic) cider has a beautiful golden hay color and a fresh, green apple taste and is slightly less aggressive on the tongue than cava. Eden Cider Eden Heirloom Ice Cider (half bottle) - Eden Honeycrisp Ice Cider (half bottle) - Eden Northern Spy Ice Cider (half bottle) These half bottles of ice cider are a great way to end a meal. At this price? back up the truck. ‘Nizza’ Weidmann and Groh Sparkling apple cider A far more elegant sparkling cider than the entry-level Grohsecco—this could give a lot of more expensive sparkling wines a run for the money. You never knew cider could be so classy! Weidmann & Groh, Speireling (2014) 1 Liter Bottle The heart of Weidman & Groh’s “Speierling” is actually not an apple, but a close relative, the speierling fruit, which comes from the rowan tree and is harvested early before it has time to fully ripen. Weidman & Groh have made it a centerpiece of this cider. The result is a beautiful, wine-like, non-sparkling cider that holds its own against riesling as the perfect pairing for spicy food. Keeps well in the fridge and tastes great the next day! |
