J. L. Chaves 2010 St.-Joseph Blanc, a relatively new cuvee, exhibits admirable minerality in addition to lots of honeyed citrus, lemon oil, quince and white currants intermixed with a subtle note of rose water (from the small amount of Roussanne in the blend otherwise dominated by Marsanne). While not as fleshy or fat as the 2009, it is well-delineated and focused. It should drink nicely for 4-5 years or longer.
